The following are some of the destinations that can be reached with a cruise from Miami:
Cruise from Miami to Fort Lauderdale, Florida
In Fort Lauderdale, Florida take the memorable river walk along the New River and experience what is commonly referred to as ‘Florida's Most Beautiful Mile'. Here you can explore the variety of restaurants, shops, boutiques and museums complemented with lush, tropical scenery. If you are not keen on walking, take advantage of the traditional riverboats and cruise around the waterways, the ‘Venice of America.' With seven miles of stunning beaches and 185 miles of waterways, Fort Lauderdale also offers the ideal setting for snorkeling and diving enthusiasts to observe the tropical sea life and coral reefs.
Cruise from Miami to Key West, Florida
Key West is a great place to visit for a day, although you may never want to leave. Ernest Hemingway set up home in Key West, Florida. Right at the bottom of the Florida Key's with its clapboard houses and tropical greenery, Key West's relaxed atmosphere attracts artists and poets, or those who just want to have a good time. You can see it all from the comfort of the Conch Train. Key West is also great for the shopaholics out there who cannot resist a bargain.
Cruise from Miami to Cozumel, Mexico. Cozumel offers some of the best snorkeling and scuba diving in the Caribbean, regardless of whether you are an expert or a beginner, with the perfect combination of brightly coloured reefs, translucent water and sunny skies. Alternatively you can go 90 feet down into the sea and explore the fascinating underwater world by submarine. There are also excellent restaurants on the beach where you can sample the best fajitas and coconut milk, which you can drink straight out of a coconut shell (with a straw). If you are not keen on getting wet, you should visit the ruins at Tulum, once a great Mayan city.
Cruise from Miami to George Town, Grand Cayman
Grand Cayman is one of the three marvelous tropical islands Christopher Columbus called "Las Tortugas" (the turtles), after the sea creatures he found in the ocean water. The designation did not endure, however, as on later maps the islands were labelled the Caimanau, the Carib Indian word for "crocodile." The name "Caimanas" refers inaccurately to the iguanas native to the islands, which were perhaps at one point mistaken for crocodiles. Among other attractions, visitors to the island will enjoy learning about the turtles especially if you visit the famous turtle farm, visiting the town of Hell, exploring Seven-Mile Beach and enjoying the underwater world. In Hell you will find red spiky rocks reminiscent of what “hell” is commonly thought to look like.
