You really can do as little or as much as you like aboard a cruise ship, there are plenty of opportunities for relaxation.
Religious Services
Inter-denominational services are conducted onboard, by the captain or staff captain. A few ships have a small private chapel. Sometimes denominational services are also offered by specially invited or fellow passengers.
Renewal of Vows
There has recently been an upsurge in cruise lines performing such ceremonies. A few ships have a small chapel where this can take place. Otherwise it can be anywhere on board - most romantic is sunrise or sunset on open deck. See SPECIAL OCCASIONS.
Restaurant
Most ships offer choice. It's best to check the format for dinner on your chosen ship: some have 2 sittings, some are open seating, some are allocated by cabin or deck position. 24 hr dining options are also available on the newer ships. See DINING.
Room Service
Beverages and snacks are available at most hours. Alcohol is normally limited to the hours when the ship's bars are open. Your room steward will advise you of the services that are offered. On most ships, there is no charge for room service.
