Nowadays some of the larger ships have the most impressive Theatres offering a wonderful array of 'West End' style performances. Other ships have smaller, more understated Theatres but offer equally impressive entertainment, albeit on a smaller scale.
Tipping(Gratuities)
Tipping/gratuities are personal to you but different cruise lines have different policies. Some include the gratuities in the price, some are added to your onboard account - others leave it to your own discretion.
Twenty Four Hour Clock
The twenty-four hour clock is a standard way of referring to time onboard many European-based ships. Up to midday, the hours are shown as 0100 to 1200. Thereafter they proceed from 1300 to 2400.
Television
In-cabin TV is standard in most new & refurbished ships. Programming is a mix of satellite & onboard video channels. Some ships can lock on to BBC World News. Satellite TV sometimes has poor reception due to constantly moving out of satellite range.
